A Two-Parameter Recursion Formula For Scalar Field Theory
We present a two-parameter family of recursion formulas for scalar field theory. The first parameter is the dimension (D). The second parameter (ζ) allows one to continuously extrapolate between Wilson’s approximate recursion formula and the recursion formula of Dyson’s hierarchical model. We show numerically that at fixed D, the critical exponent γ depends continuously on ζ. We suggest the use...

متن کاملKink-boundary collisions in a two-dimensional scalar field theory
In a two-dimensional toy model, motivated from five-dimensional heterotic M theory, we study the collision of scalar field kinks with boundaries. By numerical simulation of the full two-dimensional theory, we find that the kink is always inelastically reflected with a model-independent fraction of its kinetic energy converted into radiation. We show that the reflection can be analytically under...
متن کاملA recursion formula for k-Schur functions
The Bernstein operators allow to build recursively the Schur functions. We present a recursion formula for k-Schur functions at t = 1 based on combinatorial operators that generalize the Bernstein operators. The recursion leads immediately to a combinatorial interpretation for the expansion coefficients of k-Schur functions at t = 1 in terms of homogeneous symmetric functions.
متن کاملRenormalization of two - loop diagrams in scalar lattice field theory
We present a method to calculate to very high precision the coefficients of the divergences occuring in two-loop diagrams for a massive scalar field on the lattice. The approach is based on coordinate space techniques and extensive use of the precisely known Green’s function.
